1) Reenactment Periods
Our group recreates periods from the Iberian Iron Age to the Second World War. Thus, we can bring people together to re-enact one period or several different ones.
Each period is in turn divided into three areas (which members can choose from): Civilian - daily life; Studies - learning theory to apply to activities; Military - soldiers and other combatants of the time.
By clicking on the periods mentioned below, you can access information about each one, as well as seeing their activities in our Chronicles: |

Iberian Iron Age:
After the defeat of Carthage in 202 B.C., Rome remained as the only Mediterranean "super-power," and was able expand her empire unimpeded. However, not all cared to be subjugated, for example the Iberians, who more than proved their military prowess against these invaders!
Be a warrior of one of the peoples of ancient Iberia - fight bravely against the Roman legions from the green plains, to the dense forests, to the fortified hill towns. Defending the motherland, your war-cry will make even the most experienced Roman legionnaire veteran tremble...

Roman Period in Iberia:
We re-enact two distinct periods in the Roman occupation of the Iberian penninsula:
- the Roman invasion and the campaigns of Viriato in the 2nd century B.C, during the Roman Republic .
- "Pax Romana" at the height of the Empire, from the 1st century B.C. to the 2nd century A.D.
In either period, the recruit will be put to the test, whether in training in the X Legion "Gemina," or facing the "Barbarians" who dare to defy Rome !

al-Andaluz - The Islamic presence in Iberia
When the Muslims arrived in the Iberian Peninsula in 711, they could not have imagined the complex history which would result from their presence.
From that time to 1492, with the fall of the Kingdom of Granada , the hostility between Christians and Muslims resulted in numerous conflicts, which are interesting from the strategic level down the details of their military equipment - be one of those who serve al-Andaluz! |

The Middle Ages - From the beginning of Portugal to maritime exploration:
King Alfonso Henriques created the Kingdom of Portugal , and conquered Lisbon , its future capital in the middle of the 12th century, which makes this country today one of the oldest in continental Europe and the world!
In 1415, Portugal conquered the city of Ceuta in Morrocco, beginning an overseas expansion which would only end nearly six centuries later, with the return of Macau to the Peoples' Republic of China in 1999.
To portray the men-at-arms and knights of this period, when armour reached the peak of its efficiency and complexity, is both exciting and gratifying. |

The Age of Discovery:
Recreating the feats of Alfonso of Albuquerque and the dominion of the Indian Ocean, where so many important events took place, such as the Siege of Diu, is certainly an ambitious task, though a satisfying one for any interested re-enactor.
At the same time in Portugal men were being trained in its fortresses, while in its foundries artillery was being cast for the forces employed in overseas expansion.

The Age of Enlightenment
We also re-enact the Age of Enlightenment, a historical period that provided Europe with a fresh wave of advancement in the social, cultural and scientific fields.
The sumptuosity of the French court at Versailles was soon to pale with the storming of the Bastille, the British Navy was becoming the landlady in every ocean, helping to cement the British Empire, while in Portugal the Brazilian gold was being employed in the construction of the Palace of Mafra and the monumental acquedut of Águas Livres.
Apart from calling to mind the civilian society in general, we portray, as well, the Corpo Real de Fuzileiros, an 18 th century Portuguese royal unit of marines. |
