 5) Attendance and Materials
Attendance and materials are fundamental to participating in the group Recriar a Historia with a minimum of authenticity, so we present the following table to clarify the subject:

In the Group there are no dues nor are any fees paid for participating in activities! Just one single fee on the act of enrollment. |
Minimum Annual Participation |
Of course there is... Only someone who appears and is truly present, or rather contributes directly to the organisation, can be missed. So if one is really interested, what is giving 1 day in 182 on behalf of the organisation? We have members in both the North and South of Portugal (and from Spain !) that come concientiously to our events, in spite of numerous personal, professional and academic obligations. |
Minimum Materials |
In Order to participate, it is necessary to have some minimal clothing - there is not a "pressing need" in acquiring them, but it is important that the reenactor have the minimum costume "tools" from the historical period that interests him/her, within a reasonable amount of time...
Regarding the remaining reenacting material (civilian and military), whether tents, tables, arms, etc., the organisation can furnish these to its personel without any obligation to purchase in the future. We only require that people do the best they can for the organisation and to participate with "spirit" in its activities.
Within a wide range of choices for your free time, coming to "Live History" with us must be, in reality, one of the most economical choices. We are, in effect, one of the few historical reenacting organisations in the world which maintains communal equipment for the individual use of all its members. |
How do I apply to Recriar a História? After sending in the Candidacy Form, enrolling in the Group must always be done in person - if you don't intend to meet with us (for any reason) there's no point in sending the form in.
To this end, the interested party must meet with Group members. After exchanging information and impressions, you can sign up, if agreeable to all parties. There are three circumstances in which this can be done:
- Arrange a meeting place near where members of the Group live;
- Attend one of the organisation's historical events, if you are able;
- Appear at one of the Group's recruitment activities.
It is always up to the Group Coordinators to decide on the admission of new members.
